In UNLEASH THE WARRIOR, we show you how to optimise and train your self defence strikes, techniques or movements in five simple steps.
Use UNLEASH THE WARRIOR to be introduced to or to practice your skills further.
This session covers the GROIN KICK. Follow these easy steps:
Start from a distance where you can reach, or almost reach, the opponent with an outstretched arm.
Facing the target and with hands up in front of you, make a small stomping motion step forward in front of your centreline with your non-kicking leg, slightly bending it to put all your body weight onto this leg.
As you commence this small forward step with the base leg, before landing with it, start a very fast upward motion with your kicking leg, moving it directly in front of you and towards the (open) groin area. The kicking leg should be slightly bent at the toes, ankle and knee so to create a very solid shin musculature.
With this leg frame, connect with the groin with your lower or mid shin as if to slice the target in half from groin to head (no recoil, just a straight upward motion). Targeting with your shin gives you a very long striking surface, from toes to thigh, should the target move as you kick.
Then recoil as fast as you can. Place the kicking leg down where you need to tactically.
